LOCAL FIRM WINS AWARDS FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS WORK

EDDYVILLE, Ky., – ARMSTRONG and Associates recently received three awards for brochures and a video developed for their clients Lockheed Martin, Ophthalmology Associates of Western Kentucky and the Kentucky New Era.

MarCom Gold Award

ARMSTRONG and Associates received a MarCom Gold Award in the educational brochure category for a Lockheed Martin brochure being used in a community outreach project in Maryland.

“For this brochure, we took highly technical government and corporate information and transformed it into an easily-understood and user-friendly format,” said Kay Armstrong, M.A.T. , principal of ARMSTRONG and Associates.

The brochure was produced for Gail Rymer, Director of Lockheed Martin Environmental Communications as part of a community outreach program for Middle River, Maryland. The firm was assisted by award-winning designer Penelope Soule, Breakaway Design, Chattanooga, Tenn., an associate of ARMSTRONG and Associates.

MarCom Honorable Mention Award

ARMSTRONG and Associates received a MarCom Honorable Mention Award in the business to consumer brochure category for a brochure developed for Ophthalmology Associates of Western Kentucky.

“We developed a bright and informative patient brochure for Dr. Paul Herrell and Ophthalmology Associates of Western Kentucky,” said Darryl Armstrong, Ph.D. APR CCMC, principal of ARMSTRONG and Associates . “Dr. Herrell provides state-of-the-art ophthalmology care close to home.”

Penelope Soule of Breakaway Design collaborated as an associate of the Armstrongs.

MarCom Awards is an international competition for marketing and communication professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of marketing and communication programs and print, visual and audio materials. The awards program is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

AVA Gold Award

ARMSTRONG and Associates received an AVA Gold Award in the in-house promotional video category for the development of a recruitment video for the Kentucky New Era.

“The Kentucky New Era publisher, Taylor Hayes, was looking for a way to reach future graduates of local colleges and universities as well as established and talented professionals,” said Armstrong. “We developed a recruitment video which describes the professional needs of the Kentucky New Era along with the working environment of the organization.”

Jerry Vick, a videographer and video editor at WKAG-TV 43 in Hopkinsville, edited the video. Darryl Armstrong scripted, directed, and produced the video.

The award-winning video will be the basis for another educational video that will be used in local schools to help middle school students understand the news and information industry and careers that are available.

The international AVA Awards (Audio/Visual Awards) recognize outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, direction, shooting and editing of audio/visual materials and programs. The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals oversees the awards program.
