Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 11:20PM I was watching the news tonight and saw a story about people lined up in Memphis to remember that Elvis Presley died 30 years ago today. It suddenly stuck me that most of my generation can tell you where they were when Elvis died. However, our parents tell stories about where they were when JFK died (I was three years old).

Tina and Jack MundyWe had dinner tonight with our friends Tina and Jack Mundy and their daughter Madison at "Doe's Eat Place," a wonderful, little steak joint located in downtown Paducah. Tina and I shared a 10-ounce filet, perfectly cooked at "medium-rare plus." My husband Bill and Jack each ordered juicy ribeye steaks, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Doe's also has delicious, old-fashioned, hand-cut french fries--they're so tasty I could make a meal out of them!

I recently wrote an article called "Summertime Entertaining" that was published in July-August 2007 issue of Posh, a local Paducah, KY magazine. The article featured my 4th of July tablescape shown below as well as a festive Cuban-inspired tablescape.
It's my third published article about entertaining with friends. Look for the next one to appear in the Sept.-Oct. issue of Posh.

Our 4th of July celebration included a dinner for four on our screened-in sun porch (no bugs!). I set the table with patriotic colors and the centerpiece was a fabulous angel dressed with red, white and blue.
